Financial viability of co-located PV + BESS projects: a Balkans case study

VLADIMIR ANTUSEVIC
Grid constraints, permitting and land availability often surface late in a co-located solar and battery (BESS) project, when changing the layout is expensive. They can reshape the business case, delay financing or cut returns.
Emil Trepin and Matteo Menazzi (RatedPower) are joined by Vladimir Antusevic (Senior Electrical Engineer at GMS Consult, a renewable energy design and consulting firm in Serbia), who will share how he uses RatedPower in day-to-day work, including how quickly design changes can be evaluated. While the RatedPower team shows how different PV + BESS configurations affect performance, costs and financial viability, using RatedPower and Power Analyst, the session brings both perspectives together.
🔍 What you'll learn:
-
Assess how grid constraints, permitting and land availability influence PV + BESS project design
-
Explore different co-located PV and BESS configurations and their impact on project viability
-
Connect technical design decisions with financial analysis
-
Evaluate project performance and costs using RatedPower and Power Analyst
-
Make more informed decisions throughout the project development process
